ATV implements PROVYS TVoffice

ATV, Austria’s only commercial terrestrial TV station, is replacing their old channel management system with the latest version of PROVYS TVoffice. During a careful selection process, which started in February 2006 and included workshops in Vienna as well as reference visits in Poland and Czech Republic, ATV has finally chosen PROVYS. The main reason for this decision was the great reputation of PROVYS for excellent reliability and flexibility – both of the software and of the supporting services team.

The deployment started in mid-May and the system was rolled-out into productive use only two months later. The project, which is planned to finish by mid-August, includes the migration of legacy data, extensive training, and implementation of interfaces to ATV’s financial system, playout automation, the Austrian audience research agency GFK, air-time sales, and EPG. The system runs on Oracle Real Application Cluster to ensure uninterrupted operation.

“Our old system was obsolete and couldn’t satisfy our needs,” says ATV’s IT manager Ing. Dariusz Krysiuk. “PROVYS TVoffice offers extensive features covering all our operations from programme acquisition and own production management, through strategic planning and daily scheduling, to media management. It offers excellent reporting features and gives the company management accurate information for their decisions. We chose PROVYS because of very good references from their other customers and it has been a good choice.”

Karel Votroubek, the PROVYS project manager says: “ATV and their IT gave us timely and really professional support. Their participation in the project is very well organized. PROVYS TVoffice in ATV will be implemented within record-breaking time, considering the extent of the installation, especially thanks to the support from ATV’s management and IT.”
